The results of the vark questionnaire showed that I was a reading type of learner. Someone that can read from textbooks and be able to learn and understand the text. This did not come as a surprise, most of my life I have been reading, everything I can get my hands on. It's a passion of mine, so when it comes down to learning my learning style, is by reading. Just like the results of my questionnaire.
Seeing as I am now at University, I should work on visual/listening learning. Watching powerpoints and listening to someone talk, is hard for me. I would rather sit with a huge textbook, but I have found ways to get around this. As powerpoints are now a popular teaching method.
I find the powerpoints on the internet, but also jot down many notes from the lecture sessions and reflect on them and then I go to a library to find any books, for further reading.

My Learning Line

As you can see from my learning line, I have travelled schools , I also have been involved in alot of volunteer work to help charity. I think this is good because I am able to say I did this selflessly. I feel that my education in my life has been important and that I have worked well to achieve where I am today. I always wanted to go to university to eventaully become a teacher.
I've had a few part time jobs and have always tried to earn my money, ever since leaving school. I keep fit by doing yoga and feel this is important for my life, it helps with stress and is who I am.
My Mentor Choice
I was thinking about who I really look up to and who has been a significant role in my life so far, I thought about Mary-Kate Olsen, growing up she was my absolute idol, she's an actress and owns her own fashion brand. However, I kept thinking and realised my mind kept floating back to my mother, so I decided that my mother should be the one to mentor me and my work and the progress I make. After all she knows me better than anyone, she's smart and can always come up with ideas that no one else thinks about. I like her theories and I know she is the best person to mentor me, especially through problematic times.
